A few design notes about your child’s room or nursery wallpaper:

Nursery wallpaper is so much more sophisticated now than the old pink bows or choo-choo trains.  (We remember when our boys had a choo-choo train wallpaper border . . . those were the days.)

We discuss current wallpaper trends for nurseries in greater depth here, but suffice to say that with today’s choices, the nursery wallpaper you choose for your baby could last you well into your little one’s childhood or even teen years. You can pick a gorgeous nursery wallpaper mural, or a subtle, elegant pattern that doesn’t look “juvenile” at all.  Some of these wallpapers would look lovely in any grown-up space in your home!

What about peel and stick nursery wallpaper?  This is certainly an option!  There are some definite pros and cons to peel and stick nursery wallpaper though, that you should know about, so be sure to read our blog post for more.  One important key is to be sure to get your walls floated completely smooth first, or it won’t look right.  We always smooth the walls whenever we’re installing a nursery wallpaper.

And don’t forget the ceiling!  Little ones spend so much time looking up, you might consider giving them a fun pattern to look at, and then either leave the ceiling as the only wallpapered part of the room (maybe painting the walls in a coordinating color), or “drench” your whole nursery in a fabulous wallpaper, top to bottom.
